First, let me just say that you can pretty much ignore the one and two-star reviews, because the vast majority of them are complaining that they erroneously purchased the Cliff Notes version when they meant to buy the actual book. Obviously, it's not the book's fault if you accidentally order the wrong thing, and it shouldn't effect the books rating.
The best use for Cliff Notes is to use them as a study guide while reading the book, or to read them after finishing the book to enhance what you got out of the book. They're great for kids studying classic novels in school, because they can explain antiquated terms and phrases that are no longer in use today. They can also provide study questions to supplement a student's understanding of a book. If you want the actual book, then buy the actual book. This book, like all Cliff Notes editions, does exactly what it's supposed to.
This Cliff Notes version of To Kill a Mockingbird does exactly what it's supposed to do. It provides you with a small study guide to use as a supplement for the full-length book. Just be aware that it doesn't replace it.
